LISTEN AND MAKE

Listen and doing activities aim is to involve children in a more creative process. Before starting introducing some of the examples of listen and do activities, we should know what can we use them for and why are they so important.

Help children to make decisions.
Children have got more time to think and comment.
There is a co-operation between our students.
Childen have got something to take home at the end of the class.

Once we know why are this kind of activities important for the children’s education, we must know how to prepare them to reach every single aim we have planned. We should take into account that using the language is the reason for the lesson, so we should take this into account and try to give the best of us and adapt it to our students level so that they can follow every part of the process that it is going to be carried out during the lesson.

The five main points are the following ones:

Before starting you should know what to tell to your students, you must prepare the lesson befores carrying it out in class.
Before starting you should know what to show to your students.
Before starting you should have practiced everything you want to do so that you can do it without any problem in class.
You should be prepared for the mother tongue words your students might say to you or between them.
You should think of some gestures that can hel your students to understand what you want to say without using their mother tongue.

LISTEN AND DRAW

It consists of drawing the things you show them by giving instructions. Once the activity has finished they can show their drawings to the rest of the class while you support it in english.
